According to Corriere dello Sport, Real Madrid are interested in bringing Antonio Conte to the club as a potential managerial replacement for Julen Lopetegui. Conte has been out of work since his departure from Chelsea earlier this year, which was a move that the majority of football fans and pundits could see coming from a mile away.
Nonetheless, it was still notable, and it’s also notable that Conte has yet to find himself a new job. Some are suggesting that he’s holding out for a big position, and you could certainly argue that they don’t come any bigger than Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants appear to be getting progressively frustrated with Lopetegui’s shortcomings, with some fearing that it could end up impacting their entire campaign both domestically and in Europe. With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see how quickly they act if they’re serious about bringing Conte in.
