According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid are eyeing up a potential move to try and sign AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma – favouring that over the possibility of a swoop for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.
For the longest time it seemed like a certainty that De Gea would make his way over to the Bernabeu at one stage or another, but as time has gone on, the odds of that have dwindled dramatically.
Now, with other options being out there for Real, it genuinely seems like they could turn their attention towards Donnarumma with Courtois not quite working out as they may have hoped.
Real are still known as being one of the biggest clubs in world football and if Donnarumma is even remotely interested in the prospect of making the jump over to Madrid, then it could go down pretty quickly once the window opens.
