According to Marca, Real Madrid are said to be interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen. The Danish superstar is said to be delaying contract talks with Spurs, and it doesn’t exactly seem like a coincidence that Real are starting to showcase their desire to sign him.
Eriksen’s current deal will expire in 2020 but he isn’t rushing to extend that deal, with the expectancy being that he would replace another former Spurs player, Luka Modric, should the Croat make the decision to leave.
Eriksen’s main desire for wanting to leave is that he is eager to lift silverware, after not doing so throughout his entire tenure in North London. Alas, he would likely cost in the region of £200 million to buy, with Daniel Levy being known for not wanting to let players go without a fight.
Eriksen scored Spurs’ vital winner against Inter Milan in the Champions League earlier this week.
