According to a recent report from Marca, Spanish giants Real Madrid have once again ignited their interest in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. The belief is that they are now unlikely to complete the signing of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, despite it seeming (initially) very likely that the Frenchman would be leaving the Red Devils during the summer transfer window. In terms of van de Beek, however, they aren’t interested in paying more than £45 million in order to bring him over to the Bernabeu – which is where this deal could easily fall apart.
Ajax have already lost a string of their top stars throughout the course of the last few months, and now, it seems like just a matter of time until they’re back to square one when it comes to how much star power they possess.
The validity of that claim, of course, will come in the next few weeks.
