According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid are one of eight major clubs that are interested in securing the services of Ajax sensation Donny van der Beek. VDB was one of the key men behind Ajax’s run to the semi finals of the Champions League last season, with the general belief being that the Dutch international would cost Real (or anyone) around £60 million to sign. Given the nature of the modern market that doesn’t seem like too much of an ask, especially given the kind of potential that van der Beek is said to have.
Zinedine Zidane has already been pretty ruthless during this summer transfer window with Real, but it always feels like he’s got another trick up his sleeve that he’s just waiting to pull out.
Ajax will obviously be incredibly eager to keep hold of him heading into next season, but it seems like they’re more than likely going to have to come to terms with the fact that he’s heading out of the club.
