Real Madrid want van Dijk?

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in trying to tempt Liverpool into selling Virgil van Dijk as talks continue regarding whether or not he will sign a new contract. The Dutchman is not said to be interested in leaving Anfield at this moment in time, but that isn’t going to throw Real off the scent. Liverpool are in continued talks with van Dijk’s agent over a deal that could see them offer him around £10 million a year, but as we’ve come to learn about Real Madrid over the years, they certainly aren’t going to go down without a fight.

Virgil seems to be really comfortable with where he is at on Merseyside, but the art of football and transfers ensures that we’re always just one or two steps away from something crazy happening – and van Dijk joining Madrid would certainly be just that.
