According to a recent report from Marca, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to try and convince Zinedine Zidane to return to the Bernabeu during the summer transfer window. The Frenchman left his post last season after guiding Real to their third consecutive Champions League crown, with many fans seeing him as the ideal replacement for Santiago Solari who appears to be on his way out of the club.
Madrid have had a very poor season by their standards, which was compounded by their defeat to Ajax which brought an end to their reign of dominance in the Champions League.
Zidane, who is considered to be one of the most successful players turned managers of the modern era, has also been linked with a return to Italian side Juventus as they prepare to also look for a new boss.
Either way, whoever he chooses, one thing is for sure – it’s going to be an incredibly interesting summer.
