Spanish media outlet Marca understands that Real Madrid are set to complete the signing of Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes from Valencia.
The 22-year-old has become one of world’s hottest commodities despite not exactly impressing last season, with Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG all keen on his services.
However, the latest reports suggest that Real Madrid have all but found an agreement with Valencia, and the transfer should be completed in the coming days.
While los Che were holding out for €65 million, los Blancos have offered €50 million up front, while another €5m-€10m will depend on various performance related bonuses.
Valencia should be quite happy with the deal as other clubs didn’t even come close to matching their asking price, and this also means that Real Madrid are unlikely to pursue their interest in Paul Pogba.
Since joining the club from Benfica, Andre Gomes has scored a total of 7 goals in 63 La Liga appearances.
