According to Bild, European champions Real Madrid have had a bid for Benjamin Pavard rejected by German club Stuttgart. While we’ve known for a while that the Spanish giants were interested in him it was never certain as to whether or not they’d made a formal bid – until now.
The report suggests that the bid was rejected in order to send a message to Real, that Stuttgart will not be bullied into any kind of sale. Madrid have a tendency to intimidate smaller clubs given their overwhelming size by comparison, although it appears as if it may not work this time around.
Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing Pavard, who burst onto the scene this summer with the French national team as he helped to guide them towards World Cup glory through a string of impressive performances throughout the course of the tournament in Russia.
