Competition: Spanish La Liga
Market: Sergio Ramos to stay at Real Madrid
Odds: 1/2 @ Ladbrokes

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos appeared close to a move to Manchester United this summer, with a bid having been lodged for the Spanish international, who also admitted an interest in the Premier League at the time. However, the offer was swiftly rejected, and United have since agreed terms with another defender, so the deal now looks dead in the water.

While now a converted centre back, Ramos may have been eyed up to play right-back for Manchester United as the Red Devils have been looking to fill the position this summer. Existing options Antonio Valencia and Rafael da Silva are reportedly allowed to leave. In their place, manager Louis van Gaal looked former Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne, Barcelona’s Daniel Alves, and Ramos to no avail.

The Red Devils are now close to completing a deal to sign Torino right-back Matteo Darmian, however, who would somewhat solve their defensive woes. As a result, Ramos now looks off the table and ready to commit his future to Real Madrid. Ladbrokes are giving odds of 1/2 for the experienced defender to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
