Real make a check on Reus
Champions League holders Real Madrid remain hot on the trail of Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, Marca can reveal.
Los Blancos are well aware that Bayern Munich plan to lure the Germany star to Alianz Arena and they are determined to stay in touch with the forward’s representatives.
As a result, Real Madrid have sent an emissary to Dortmund few days ago to ensure they are kept abreast of the latest developments.
With Reus set to be available for mere €25 million next summer, chances are that both suitors will be ready to match the release clause, meaning it will be up to the player to decide on his next destination.
And even though Real Madrid are not short of quality up front, chairman Florentino Perez is eager to bring the Germany hotshot to Santiago Bernabeu.
Marco Reus has missed a big chunk of the current season through various injuries and this could be one of the reasons for Dortmund’s latest struggles.
Lazio eyeing Veli Kavlak
Italian daily newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Lazio are eyeing a January move for Besiktas midfielder Veli Kavlak.
The Biancocelesti have done well to climb to fourth in Serie A and they are expected to reinforce the squad in the winter in order to mount a serious challenge for Champions League positions, with Stefano Pioli’s side 11/2 for a top 3 finish.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Austrian midfielder Veli Kavlak has emerged as one of club’s top targets.
Seeing as how his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, Lazio believe they can sign him for just €2 million in January.
Veli Kavlak, 26, has spent last three and a half years with Besiktas, having joined the Turkish giants from Rapid Wien.
The Austria international has managed 6 goals in 103 Turkish Super Lig outings, becoming one of club’s most important players in the process.
Werder confirm Elia set to leave
Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen have all but confirmed that winger Eljero Elia will be leaving Weserstadion in January.
The 27-year-old has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons of late and it appears his spell with Werder Bremen is drawing to a close.
Despite starting the season as a first team regular, Elia was pretty disappointing in nine Bundesliga appearances, and he has been out of the match squad for a month or so.
And with the Dutch footballer still one of club’s highest earners, Werder are desperate to offload him at the earliest opportunity.
“We have told the player and his representatives that we want to find a solution,” Werder manager Thomas Eichin told Sport Bild Plus.
Eljero Elia joined Werder from HSV back in 2012 and has since made 66 league appearances, scoring 4 goals.
