Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claims Real Madrid are preparing a huge bid in their attempt to sign Robert Lewandowski.
It has been noted that Real are over-reliant on Cristiano Ronaldo for goals, and although the Portuguese superstar still seems like he can produce fantastic ones at any moment, some additional fire-power would certainly aid the 12-time European champions in their battle against Barcelona for trophies.
Lewandowski is without a doubt one of the best centre-forwards in the world, but exactly for that reason Bayern Munich are not willing to part with him at the moment. At Real, they hope that a huge offer they’re about to put on the table will be enough to convince the Bavarians to change their minds, but the whole prospect ultimately depends on the will of Bayern as there is no buy-out clause in the striker’s contract.
Such a move would certainly pose a question about the future of Karim Benzema. Balague believes Real would prefer to keep the Frenchman and sell Gareth Bale, but such a plan doesn’t suit the Welshman.
