Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is set to fly to Canada to try and resolve the problems around potential departures from the club, according to AS. The players whose fate is to be decided are midfielders James Rodriguez and Dani Ceballos, forwards Lucas Vazquez, Mariano Diaz, Borja Mayoral and Gareth Bale, and defender Jesus Vallejo.
Real have already spent a vast sum of money – over €300 million – this summer through the acquisitions of forwards Luka Jović and Eden Hazard and Rodrygo Goes, and defenders Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy. They now need to sell players in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules, and Perez is keen on sorting that out as soon as possible.
James, who spent the last two seasons on loan with Bayern Munich, was close to joining Napoli until the Serie A club president Aurelio De Laurentiis said that Real were asking for too much. Ceballos has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur with Christian Eriksen tipped to go the other way. Vazquez is reportedly a target for Arsenal, but there seem to be no clubs interested in Bale due to his big wages.
