Spanish newspaper El Confidencial understands that Real Madrid have rejected several offers for talented midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
The former Real Sociedad starlet was widely tipped to leave as Toni Kroos joined from Bayern Munich and Sami Khedira remained at Santiago Bernabeu, but he ultimately did not move clubs during the summer transfer window.
La Real and AC Milan were interested in signing the 24-year-old footballer, but both Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti decided to give Illarramendi a second chance.
With Sami Khedira undergoing a knee surgery, the midfielder is expected to get much needed playing time this season and it is up to him to prove he is a Real Madrid material.
Illarramendi made a total of 29 La Liga appearances for los Blancos last season, starting 15 of those games and scoring 2 goals in the process.
Real Madrid host arch rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday evening and they are available at 4/6 to emerge victorious.
