What is more, Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to match a €110 million release clause in the player’s contract that is valid until July.
With Inter Milan chiefs desperate to keep hold of their star player, they could attempt to offer him a new and improved deal and at the same time increase said clause.
Mauro Icardi, 24, has been in excellent form ever since he joined from Sampdoria, going on to score 89 goals in 145 league outings for the Nerazzurri.
