It has been a quiet summer when it comes to incoming transfers at Real Madrid, but they have mostly been working on trimming their squad. Gareth Bale has finaly left the Spanish capital to spend the last year of his contract on loan at former club Tottenham Hotspur, and he took left-back Sergio Reguilon with him on a permanent basis. James Rodriguez made his way to Everton. Right-back Achraf Hakimi has been sold to Inter Milan, and midfielder Brahim Diaz has temporarily joined AC Milan.
According to AS, Real are now working hard to identify a loan destination for striker Luka Jovic. With someone like Karim Benzema in the team, it’s highly unlikely the Serbia international would be able to get into the starting XI any time soon, and head coach Zinedine Zidane has now put 23-year-old Borja Mayoral ahead of the former Eintracht man too.
Los Blancos are keen to give Jovic an opportunity to play 40 games in a season somewhere and rekindle the form that persuaded them to fork out €60 million for his services in the first place. AC Milan seem the favourites at the moment, though Napoli, Chelsea and Leicester have also expressed interest over the summer.
