Real Madrid are very close to completing the signing of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, according to AS.
The centre-back was being linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, before the Red Devils signed Harry Maguire, but recently Real and Barcelona were reported to have engaged in a fierce battle for Skriniar’s signature.
The Spanish publication quote Mithat Halis, a partner in the company which represents the Slovakia international, who claims that the giants from the Spanish capital have moved ahead of their Catalan rivals for the player. They are apparently closer to concluding a deal due to the fact that their need for his services is greater than that of Barcelona. AS also claim that Inter were offered €55 million for Skriniar only six months after bringing him in from Sampdoria for €28 million, but they turned the offer down and they now value the player at around €100 million.
But Real desperately need to add a quality centre-back to their ranks in order to reduce their dependence on Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.
