Hoping to build a return to European football, Real Sociedad will welcome a struggling Girona side to the Estadio Municipal de Anoeta on Monday night.

Starting with the hosts, while it has been far from a dream start for Real Sociedad, Asier Garitano’s side did show some improvements prior to the international break. As for the visitors, although Girona had hoped to improve on their 10th place finish in La Liga last season, it has been a sluggish start for Eusebio Sacristán’s men. Along with picking up a 1-0 loss against Toulouse in a friendly over the international break, they looked completely outplayed when Eibar put three past them in their last league outing. Now without a win in their last five matches across all competitions, they sit just a single point above the relegation zone.
