Real Sociedad are close to completing a deal which would see Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Rafinha Alcantara join their ranks for the second half of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 28-year-old, like his brother Thiago of Liverpool, rose through the youth ranks at Barcelona. He had loan spells with Celta Vigo and Inter Milan, before making a permanent switch to PSG on the last day of the summer window in 2020.
However, Rafinha is obviously finding it hard to nail down a place in the team at the moment. This season, he has only made five Ligue 1 appearances so far, only three as a starter. He is yet to score a goal or record an assist.
Apparently, the two clubs are still in talks about the deal and there are a few details left to sort out, but all sides are confident of a positive conclusion. When the proposed loan at Sociedad expires, Rafinha will return to Paris with a year left on his contract there.
