Two sides who will be looking to get their season back on track after a poor run of form, Real Sociedad will welcome Alaves to the Estadio Municipal de Anoeta on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, after failing to land a top half finish in La Liga last season, it has been another sluggish start for Asier Garitano’s Real Sociedad side. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss away at Getafe last week, the Royal’s have now lost their last three league matches on the bounce and are heading worryingly towards a relegation battle. While a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey might be their only competitive win in December, Sociedad should be boosted by Alaves equally poor run of form of late.

Despite Alaves’ remarkable start to the season that has briefly seen them flirt with the Champions League positions, Abelardo Fernández’s side have hit a difficult patch. Coming off the back of a lackluster showing in their 0-0 draw with Athletic Bilbao last week, Wednesday’s visitors are now without a win in their last five, including crashing out of the Copa del Rey at the hands of Girona earlier in the month.
