The Catalan giants seem to be closing in on Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez who could be presented as the new Barcelona player as early as this week.
With €222 million in their transfer kitty, Barcelona have no problem with activating Inigo Martinez’s release clause worth €32 million and Real Sociedad have already started working on a replacement.
The Spanish media outlet Sport reports that Real Sociedad have rekindled interest in Mauricio Lemos from Las Palmas, after initially being rejected earlier this summer. Las Palmas are unwilling to let their player go for any less than €20 million and Real Sociedad will now have enough funds to materialize the deal.
Lemos enjoyed a fine season under Quique Setien and has been linked with a couple of big-name clubs, including Barcelona but also Inter Milan and Everton.
The Uruguay defender joined Las Palmas from Rubin Kazan in 2016.
He has thus far made 33 La Liga appearances and scored three goals during that time.
