Real Madrid have apparently decided to put the plans to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on hold for 12 months.
That is according to AS, who claim Real president Florentino Perez told a “handful” of reporters at the Eden Hazard presentation last week that the club would be looking to sign one “Galactico” every summer. With the Belgian winger already secured, that would be it for this year.
Mbappe has said that it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid one day. The 13-time Champions League winners hope that he will not be renewing his contract with PSG during the 2019/20 season, and that he will help their cause by informing the Ligue 1 champions of his desire to move to the Santiago Bernabeu by submitting a transfer request at the end of the campaign.
The 20-year-old forward’s contract with PSG doesn’t expire before 2023, and they might look to temp him with a fresh deal, offering an increase on his €12 million per year wages. Next year, Real would be able (and willing) to offer him €15 million per year, but it is up to Mbappe to make the firs move.
