According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid are set to begin negotiations for Gareth Bale at around £112 million during the summer transfer window. It’s not exactly a secret that the Spanish giants are interested in moving the Welshman along in the next few months, mainly due to his perceived inconsistency in the first team. Now that Zinedine Zidane has returned to the club, too, it seems to have only strengthened the chances of him leaving the Bernabeu.
The figure is certainly a big one and it’ll be interesting to see if anyone is willing to stump up that kind of cash. Manchester United have always been known to be very interested in signing Bale, but you have to wonder whether or not they’ll commit to such a fee.
Real are believed to be willing to accept a lower figure if necessary, especially given the fact that he currently earns £10 million a year after tax.
