Speaking in the club’s press conference for the purpose of unveiling Luis Enrique as the new head coach a few days ago, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi strongly insisted the Ligue 1 champions would not allow Kylian Mbappe to leave the Parc des Princes as a free agent next summer when his contract expires. The Qatari businessman openly gave the 24-year-old attacker a choice: sign a new contract, or leave now for a suitable fee.
According to Miguel Delaney of the Independent, Real Madrid have decided to test PSG’s resolve on that particular issue. They’re apparently willing to wait patiently to sign Mbappe exactly in the way PSG have vowed not to let it happen: on a free transfer next year.
It is widely believed Mpabbe will eventually go to Real, one way or another, as revealed by the answer of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to the question of whether his ranks could be boosted by the new France captain.
