La Liga side Real Zaragoza have completed the signing of defender Fernando Meira from Zenit.
The Portuguese defender decided to leave Russia after losing his starting place at Zenit, with Zaragoza taking advantage of the situation to sign the veteran defender.
According to club’s official website, the transfer will be completed in the next few days, after which the player will be officially presented to the media and fans.
The 33-year-old has enjoyed a very successful career since leaving Portugal, going on to play for Stuttgart, Galatsaray and Zenit, while he amassed no less than 54 Portugal caps.
Meira is set to become Zaragoza’s eight signing of the summer, as the La Romareda outfit earlier completed the signings of Roberto Jimenez, Efrain Juarez and Mateos, to name just a few.
