As Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali becomes the latest name involved in gambling problems and facing a lengthy ban from playing, it’s becoming clearer by the day that steps need to be taken to fight the issue before it becomes a full-scale crisis.

Some will argue that it’s already too late.
