Real’s Marcelo talks up Juventus switch

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo has revealed that he would like to play for Juventus at some stage during his career.

The Brazilian seems to have finally managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Santiago Bernabeu, having won the battle with Fabio Coentrao.

Marcelo was also Brazil’s first choice left-back at the 2014 World Cup, so it would appear as though he is enjoying the best period of his career.

However, while he is currently happy at Real Madrid, the player has suggested he would like to embark on a new challenge in the future, hinting at a possible move to Juventus.

“A future in Italy? Certainly not immediately, but someday I’d like to play for Juventus,” the 26-year-old was quoted as saying in Il Corriere dello Sport.

Marcelo has spent last eight years at Santiago Bernabeu having joined from Fluminense, making 204 La Liga appearances and scoring 15 goals.

He has won three league titles and a Champions League trophy in the process, albeit failing to establish himself as an undisputed starter.
