Sampdoria have agreed terms with Real Madrid to secure the signature of on-loan striker Antonio Cassano, according to the club’s website on Friday.
Cassano, 25, joined the Madrid giants from Roma at the beginning of 2006 for 5 million euros, but failed to make an impression – even after former boss Fabio Capello took over at Real.
In August last year Cassano was loaned out to the Genoa-based club, where he finished the season with ten goals.
The temperamental striker – often critised for his controversial behaviour on and off the field – is currently with the national squad at their Euro 2008 training camp.
