(GSM) – Everton have reportedly offered a four year deal worth £55,000 a week for midfielder Steven Pienaar to make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
Pienaar has one year left on his contract at the Goodison Park and has already rejected two new contract offers.
Many clubs are interested in securing his services, notably Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool but they are failed to meet Toffees boss David Moyes’ £20million asking price.
Moyes intended to keep Pienaar for another year and let the South African leave in a cut-price deal next summer.
The 28-year-old winger, who joined Everton from Borussia Dortmund for £2m three years ago, has scored seven goals in 37 appearances in all competitions this season.
