Spanish Primera Division side Recreativo Huelva part ways with coach Manolo Zambrano, who gets the blame for the team’s poor performance in the opening phase of the season.
Zambrano joined ‘Recre’ in February, succeeding the sacked Victor Muñoz, but couldn’t make the required change at the club. Having ended last season in sixteenth place, they currently occupy the eighteenth spot after six games.
The 48-year-old, who is in fact from Huelva himself, began his coaching career in 2002, but had only managed minor teams before being attracted by Recreativo.
Zambrano’s replacement is reportedly Lucas Alcaraz, who previously coached the team from 2000 to 2003. During that time, Recreativo earned promotion to the top flight.
