Red Bull Salzburg have filled the void left by Marc Janko’s departure to FC Twente by signing Uruguayan forward Joaquín Boghossian from Argentine outfit Newell’s Old Boys.

The 23 year old has signed a four year contract with Salzburg. The 1.97 metre tall Boghossian started his career with Club Cerro and had a short stint with C.A. Progreso before returning to Cerro. However it was at Newell’s that he shot to fame as he netted 17 times in 34 games for them.

Boghossian has been capped by Uruguay at U-20 level, but is yet to win a cap for the senior team.
