A group of wealthy Manchester United supporters on Tuesday confirmed that they had held talks about launching a bid to take over the Premier League champions.
In a statement, the group, who have styled themselves as the Red Knights, said they were examining the feasibility of a proposal to be put to United’s American owners, the Glazer family, and called for backing from United fans worldwide.
