Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that he is interested in signing Lille forward Eden Hazard.
The Belgian winger is followed by a number of major European clubs, and it looks that several English Premier League clubs are set to enter a real bidding war for the player’s services.
The 21-year-old revealed that he was set to leave Lille at the end of the season, citing England as his preferred destination.
Speaking to French television RTBF last week, Hazard hinted at a move to White Hart Lane.
“Maybe it will be Tottenham (I will join),” Hazard was quoted as saying.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has now moved to confirm reports that Spurs are keeping tabs on the promising forward.
“Hazard is a player that we have spoken about,” Redknapp said to The Observer. “He is a player who is definitely on our list.”
According to the same source, Lille want around €40 million for their prized asset and Tottenham are set to face a stiff competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Belgian international continues to prove his worth in French top flight, having scored 9 and set up 8 more goals in 22 Ligue 1 games.
