QPR manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed reports linking Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar with a move to Toronto FC.
The 34-year-old has failed to make a single appearance for Rangers this season after missing out on a summer exit, but it appears his Loftus Road nightmare is about to end.
Julio Cesar is in talks with Toronto FC over a loan move to the MLS side and Harry Redknapp has moved to confirm the deal is close to fruition.
“Julio Cesar is closing in on a loan move to Toronto FC. He’s been a fantastic professional and we wish him well,” the experienced manager said at a press conference on Friday.
The Brazilian joined Rangers in the summer of 2012 on a free transfer from Inter and he fared well in 24 Premier League appearances, although he wasn’t able to help the club escape the drop.
Cesar was then widely tipped to leave Loftus Road last summer, but he missed out on a move to Napoli as he was not prepared to take a pay cut.
Queens Park Rangers are on the road to return to the Premier League, and are priced at 4/6 to get promoted.
