(GSM) – Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp does not expect Scott Parker’s arrival from West Ham United.
Spurs had tried to land Parker in the summer – only to be put off by the England international’s price-tag.
And despite maintaining his interest in the West Ham United midfielder, Redknapp insists that the player is unlikely to arrive to White Hart Lane anytime soon.
Redknapp told the Daily Mirror: “We haven’t made any move for him. Midfield is the only area where I don’t have many options, we are really short there.
“I like Parker, but he belongs to West Ham. He will be 31 next birthday and they will want £15million.
“Daniel (Levy, chairman) wouldn’t buy players of that age, on big wages with no sell-on.”
Meanwhile Redknapp admits Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara could be set to depart White Hart Lane.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact after his return to White Hart Lane following his loan stint at Avram Grant’s former club Portsmouth.
Reports have tipped O’Hara to reunite with Grant at West Ham, and Redknapp did concede that the player may leave the club soon.
“O’Hara needs to play. He would be better off playing somewhere that not playing,” he added. “He would do a good job for someone in the Prem.”
