Harry Redknapp insists he is happy in his position at Tottenham as rumours of a move to the England job gather pace.

The Spurs manager revealed he has been flattered by the support he has received from his peers in the past 24 hours but reiterated the importance of the job he is doing at White Hart Lane.

“Yes of course. It’s nice if people put me in a position where they think I’ve got a chance of getting the job,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News.

“It is flattering, other managers have come out and said nice things and I appreciate everybody’s support really.”

“I’ve had great support from everybody and that’s important.”

“It’s difficult, I’ve only had focus on Tottenham.”

“We have a big game tomorrow against Newcastle.”

“The club have been great to me, Daniel (Levy) brought me here and it couldn’t have gone better for me in the three years I’ve had here and I’ve loved every minute of coming here.”

“We’ve got great players, a good team, an excellent team and I couldn’t be happier really in my work than how I am at the moment.”

Redknapp was asked whether he felt a manager could cope with combining club and international management.

“It’s hard enough managing a league club, let alone managing your country,” the 64-year-old said.

“It’s two very difficult jobs. I think you have to focus on one job, you can’t really go home thinking ‘who’s playing well’.”

“My focus really is I can’t take my eye off the ball at Tottenham at the moment because we’re looking to get Champions League football, we’re still in the FA Cup and I owe it to them to continue to keep completely focused on the job I’m doing here.”

“It wouldn’t be fair to anybody if I started to let my thoughts wander elsewhere.
