Redknapp: I will go for Parker if West Ham get relegated

Harry Redknapp admits he is a keen admirer of the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, Scott Parker and says West Ham would have problems holding on to him if they get relegated.

The Tottenham boss already tried to sign Scott Parker and he admits he would love to see the England international wearing the Tottenham jersey.

“If they don’t stay up, they’ve got a problem keeping the Footballer of the Year.,” Redknapp was quoted as saying.

“But he’s a real proper pro, a proper good bloke and not a minute’s problem. He just gets on with it.

“I like him a lot as a lad. He played well for England and I’m pleased to see an English boy win it.”

“If they go down, is he going to play in the Championship next year? I wouldn’t have thought so but it isn’t going to be £15m is it? He wants to play for England and it’ll be hard.”
