Harry Redknapp will travel to Anfield by private jet to take charge of Tottenham’s match on Monday against Liverpool.
The Spurs boss is at Southwark Crown Court on trial for charges of tax evasion and the jury is expected to be sent to consider their verdict four hours before the kick-off on Merseyside.
That would be too late to make the 220-mile journey by road and it is widely reported that Redknapp will therefore fly in an attempt to appear at the vital Premier League clash.
The former West Ham boss has left training to assistants Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan this week but is planning to pick the team and give the team talk against the Reds, as he has done in matches against Watford and Wigan since his trial began.
One of the decisions he will face will be whether or not to deploy former Everton and Manchester United striker Louis Saha against his old rivals Liverpool, after the Frenchman signed for the club on deadline day.
Saha is delighted at joining up with Spurs, telling The Mail: “It’s a very attacking side and they always look for movement of the striker. There is quality everywhere on the pitch, from the goalkeeper to the top.
“There is so much quality and confidence about the team’s play, it’s amazing. Adebayor and Van der Vaart are great players so I can’t wait to play with them.”
“When everyone clicks, it’s very hard to defend against Tottenham. It’s amazing – I can’t wait to get started.”
