Spurs assistant Kevin Bond said returning boss Harry Redknapp will have to deal with the pressure that goes with managing.
The former West Ham United boss recently underwent a minor heart operation and has been recovering while Bond and first-team coach Joe Jordan have handled the playing side of the club.
But with 64-year-old Redknapp possibly being passed fit in time to take the reins when his charges take on Aston Villa, Bond has warned that he will have to cope with the pressure.
“You can’t control things for Harry. When he comes back the pressure will be there. How can you protect yourself from that?” he told The Mail on Sunday.
“I don’t think you can. I know what Harry is like.”
“He’s not going to be able to avoid feeling the pressure in tight matches, though he copes well.”
“The important thing is we think he is going to come back a lot healthier than when he went away.”
Spurs play Villa at White Hart Lane on Monday.
