(GSM) – Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes his side can mount a serious challenge for the Champions League.
Spurs have emerged winners of Group A ahead of European champions Internazionale after a 3-3 draw at Twente on Tuesday night.
And while not denying the tough stages ahead for his side, Redknapp believes his team can challenge any team they face.
“We can cause anybody problems,” said Redknapp.
“I’m not saying we are going to win the Champions League but we will give everyone a game – and we have a chance.
“We are dangerous at White Hart Lane and with people like Rafael van der Vaart and one or two others close to returning from injury, the squad is looking good.”
Redknapp has warned Tottenham’s rivals that his side will continue with their attacking style regardless of their opponents.
“That’s how we are, we score goals, we let goals in, we score more goals and let more in,” he said. “We attack, we score goals, we go for it every game.
“We play with two wide men and look to score, look to attack teams at every opportunity. We are open.
“We could string five across the middle and shut up shop, but you can’t have it both ways. We’ve scored more than anybody.”
Tuesday night’s stalemate in Holland saw Jermain Defoe notch a brace, marking his first goals for Spurs since August.
And Redknapp was pleased to see the forward break his personal drought, adding: “It was good to see Jermain Defoe scoring goals again.”
