Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has moved to deny reports that he will enter the transfer market in January.
The defensive crisis appears to be finally over and that is one of the reasons why Redknapp is unlikely to sign new players in January.
“As it stands, I’m not looking to bring anyone into the club in January,” Redknapp was quoted as saying in The Mirror.
“I was initially concerned about injuries to some of our defenders, which left us light on the ground. But with William Gallas and Ledley King returning, those concerns have subsided.
“To be honest, we have a very strong squad, one of the best in the Premier League, so I wouldn’t know where to bring in players that would improve us, as we are pretty strong all over the pitch.
“There is absolutely no point in going out and signing players if they can’t improve the team. And, as it is, I have enough strength in depth in my squad.”
