Marseille’s Loic Remy has been ruled out of their Champions League last 16 first-leg clash with Inter Milan.
The forward, who was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham in January, underwent a scan on Thursday which revealed a minor hamstring injury, which is expected to sideline Remy for three weeks.
Remy is set to miss Marseille’s upcoming Ligue 1 clashes with Valenciennes, Brest and Toulouse, as well as next Wednesday’s vital clash with Inter.
The absence of the France international, who arrived at the Stade Velodrome from Nice ahead of the 2010-11 season, is a massive blow for Marseille given he is the club’s top scorer this season.
