Marseille striker Loic Remy is hoping to avoid Real Madrid and Barcelona in Friday’s draw for the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Ligue 1 outfit prevailed on away goals against Inter on Tuesday to book their place in the competition’s last eight.
But their top scorer insists the Stade Velodrome team must not be given a date with destiny against either of the Spanish giants to preserve their momentum.
“We must avoid Barca and Real but, at this stage of the competition, all matches are difficult,” the France international told the club’s official website.
Remy then suggested that Inter’s city-rivals AC Milan could be Didier Deschamps’ men’s ideal opponents, having already secured progression through the competition at San Siro in the round of 16.
“Why not return to San Siro against AC Milan and progress again in Italy? But in any case, regardless of the opponent, it will be a difficult match; I do not really have any favoured team.”
The first legs of the quarter-finals will be played on March 27-28.
