Hamburger SV goalkeeper Rene Adler has admitted that he is honoured to be linked with Arsenal.
The Gunners are reportedly preparing a £5 million offer for the Germany international as they search for a new number one.
And it appears that luring the player to the Emirates wouldn’t be such a difficult task after all given that the 28-year-old admits he is interested to hear what the Gunners have to offer.
“For any player it is an honour (to be linked with Arsenal),” Adler was quoted as saying in Metro. “It is something that inspires me even more, and it is not distracting me.”
Rene Adler was regarded as one of Germany’s best keepers during his time at Bayer Leverkusen, but a serious knee injury seriously halted his progress.
After losing a starting berth at Bay Arena to Bernd Leno, the 28-year-old opted to join Hamburger on a free transfer last summer.
Adler has managed to kick-start his career at Imtech Arena, but it appears that he could be leaving the Red Shorts at the end of the season, especially if they fail to clinch European qualification.
