Looking to bounce back from their defeat over the weekend, Rennes will make the trip to the Stade des Costières on Wednesday evening.

Starting with the hosts, while Nimes may have managed to pick up what could be a crucial 2-0 victory over Reims last time out, they still find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap and in the midst of a torrid run. Recording just a single victory since the 21st of September, a 14-match run, Head Coach Bernard Blaquart has also seen his side lose four of their last five Ligue 1 appearances. Still seen to be one of the leading contenders for the drop this season and with their woeful run highlighted by a 6-0 hammering away at Bordeaux last month, Nimes have also recorded just a sole top-flight victory at the Stade des Costières since the middle of September.

As for the visitors, while Rennes may have been left heartbroken to have seen Marseille snatch a dramatic 1-0 win over the weekend, a result that brought an end to their five-match winning run, Julien Stéphan’s men have continued on what could be a stellar campaign. Now sat in pole position to secure a Champions League spot, there is no doubt that fans around Roazhon Park will be impressed by their most recent performances on the road. Including picking up a 1-0 win away at Lyon prior to the festive break, Rennes have landed back-to-back victories on their travels and should be confident of making a return to winning ways in midweek.
