Rennes have reached an agreement to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen, the Dutch club have revealed.
PSV general manager Marcel Brands confirmed to Voetbal Intenational that they have accepted an offer from France worth €2.5 million.
The player subsequently travelled to Brittany to discuss his personal terms and possibly undergo a medical at Stade de la Route de Lorient.
That does not mean that the deal will go through since Toivonen already rejected a move to Norwich last summer after the two clubs had agreed on the transfer fee.
The Swede, whose contract at Philips Stadium is due to expire at the end of the season, has expressed his desire to leave PSV Eindhoven at the earliest opportunity.
He has spent last five years at the club, having joined from Malmo FF, and went on to score 61 goals in 139 Eredivisie appearances despite being mostly used as an attacking midfielder.
