Rennes complete Quintero loan deal

Ligue 1 high-flyers Rennes have completed the signing of Colombian midfielder Juan Quintero from FC Porto, it has been revealed.

The 22-year-old arrives on a season-long loan, hoping to kick-start his career at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

Rennes coach Philippe Montanier was delighted with the club’s final capture of the summer transfer window, which is enough to suggest the attacking midfielder could have an important role to play this season.

Juan Quintero joined FC Porto two years ago with a reputation of one of world’s hottest prospects, having impressed playing for Pescara in Serie A.

However, the youngster never quite managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Estadio do Dragao, starting mere 11 league games in two years at the club.

His new side enjoyed a great start to the league campaign, winning three straight games after the opening loss to Bastia and can now be backed at 9/5 to see off Nantes as well.
