According to a recent report from L’Equipe, French side Rennes have opened initial talks with Chelsea over the potential signing of Fikayo Tomori.
The 22-year-old, who has an appearance for the England national team under his belt after making his debut last year, looks set to depart Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard continues to shake things up at the club.
Tomori has had his moments in the first team with the Blues, but it doesn’t appear as if he’s considered to be their most valuable asset at the back.
Chelsea are in desperate need of some defensive reinforcements and everyone knows that, and when you think about such an issue, it does make this report all the more surprising.
With that being said we are still in the initial talks stage, meaning that there are plenty of things which could get in Rennes’ way as the summer transfer window continues.
