Chelsea’s Frank Lampard is set to end a frustrating year at Stamford Bridge with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

The midfielder has been unable to secure a first-team berth under Andre Villas-Boas and the Portuguese boss admitted the 33-year-old had expressed his displeasure at failing to start the Champions League clash with Napoli.

Lampard is believed to have argued with the under-fire manager at a team meeting before the match in Italy and is said to believe that Villas-Boas is trying to change too much, too fast by gradually forcing the old guard out, according to a report in The Mirror.

He has been restricted to just 29 appearances across all competitions so far and, although he has managed to bag 11 goals, he is thought to be unhappy at seeing himself slide out of the first-team picture.

New PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Lampard during the Italian’s two-year spell in charge at Stamford Bridge between 2009 and 2011, with the Blues lifting the double in 2010.

Ancelotti took over at PSG from Antoine Kombouare in December, sit on top of the Ligue 1 table.
