Guus Hiddink has reached a verbal agreement with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala to coach the team until the end of the season.
Dutch magazine Voetbal International has reported Hiddink has agreed to take charge of the cashed-up outfit until season’s end, with an option for an additional one-year contract extension.
The ambitious Russian outfit had been in the market for a new permanent coach ever since the departure of Gadzhi Gadzhiev earlier this year.
Anzhi appointed Roberto Carlos as caretaker at the time, but the Brazilian will make way for Hiddink come next month, should the 65-year-old put pen to paper to finalise his move.
The Dutchman has reached a verbal agreement with Anzhi, and is expected to sign a contract until the summer of 2012 in the upcoming days.
Hiddink, who previously worked at clubs such as Valencia, Real Madrid, PSV and Chelsea, had been out of work ever since he left the job as Turkey national team coach in the wake of their failure to qualify for Euro 2012.
